The price of Zomato’s shares began the day at 271.94 INR and has fluctuated somewhat, peaking at 272.70 INR and falling to 267.66 INR. The stock closed around 0.28% lower than the close of the previous day, with the previous closing price of 270.79 INR suggesting a slight decline. With about 42,992,794 shares traded, the trading volume was significant and demonstrated strong investor interest.
Zomato Q2 Results
Zomato, a food delivery service, announced on Tuesday that its consolidated net profit for the second quarter increased by 389% to Rs 176 crore from Rs 36 crore in the same period last year. The PAT, however, fell short of the Rs 260 crore street estimate.
During the reporting year, revenue from operations increased 68% year over year (YoY) to Rs 4,799 crore. A consistent rise in food delivery margins and the quick commerce sector staying close to break-even were the key drivers of the bottom line expansion.
On a like-for-like basis (not including the impact of the acquisition of Paytm’s entertainment ticketing business), the gross order value (GOV) growth across the B2C businesses improved to 55% YoY to Rs 17,670 crore in Q2FY25. Adjusted EBITDA for the reporting quarter also increased by a factor of three to Rs 331 crore compared to Rs 41 crore in the same period last year.
