Punit Goenka withdraws his consent to be Zee’s MD
The CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Punit Goenka, has refused to be reappointed as managing director prior to the annual general meeting (AGM). Goenka stepped down from her position as managing director on Monday.”…in continuation of our previous disclosure on November 18, 2024, regarding Mr. Punit Goenka’s resignation as the company’s managing director, we hereby enclose the letter that Mr. Punit Goenka sent to us resigning from his position as managing director and withdrawing his consent to be reappointed as managing director of the company as suggested in the Notice of the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company for November 28, 2024. But Goenka will continue to serve as CEO.
Goenka had asked the board to remove him from his position as managing director of the company so that he could “focus” on his operational responsibilities as CEO, the media and entertainment company said in a statement on November 18.
