NTPC Green Energy, a division of NTPC Ltd., is set to go up for auction Tuesday in one of the largest initial public offerings (IPOs) of 2024. With a brand-new offering, it hopes to raise Rs 10,000 crore. Following Hyundai Motors India’s Rs 28,756 crore offering and Swiggy’s Rs 11,327 crore listing, this IPO will be the third biggest of the year.

NTPC Green Energy was established in April 2022 and is a fully-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. It focuses on renewable energy projects through acquisitions and organic expansion. The company operated 3,071 MW of solar energy projects and an additional 100 MW of wind projects scattered across six states as of August 31, 2024. In more than six Indian states, the company’s portfolio includes both wind and solar generating assets spread across multiple regions. Its operational capacity was 3,071 MW for solar projects and 100 MW for wind projects as of August 31, 2024. Its capacity under the pipeline is 10,975 MW, and as of June 30, 2024, it has 14,696 MW, which includes 2,925 MW of running projects and 11,771 MW of committed and awarded projects.
