HBL Power Systems Jumps 6% After Bagging ₹1,522 Crore KAVACH Order—What’s Next for the Stock?

After securing a Rs 1,522 crore KAVACH order, HBL Power Systems’ stock reached a 52-week and all-time high on December 16. Through an exchange filing, the Delhi-based company notified its shareholders that it had secured the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works order.

The statement states, “We would like to notify you that Chittaranjan Locomotive Works has placed an order for the supply, installation, and commissioning of on-board TCAS (KAVACH) equipment in locomotives for a total of Rs 1,522.40 crore (plus applicable taxes).” It is expected that the order, which includes installing KAVACH equipment on 2,200 locomotives, will be completed within a year.

In addition to Siemens, KEC International, RailTel, and Kernex Microsystems, HBL Engineering is one of the few railway businesses participating in the KAVACH orders for the Indian Railways. Kernex Microsystems actually received a KAVACH order last week worth over ₹2,000 crore, which exceeded its whole market value. The combined anticipated order potential for LTE and KAVACH is ₹30,000 crore.
