Sula Vineyards Shares Drop 7%: Q2 PAT Falls 37% YoY with Slight Revenue Dip

The biggest wine manufacturer in India, Sula Vineyards Limited, revealed its financial results for the second quarter and first half of FY25, emphasizing that its Own Brands division had grown for ten consecutive quarters. Net revenue for the first half of the year was Rs 271.7 crore, up 3.7% year over year, while Q2 revenue was Rs 142.0 crore, down 3.7% year over year. income from wine tourism was marginally lower at Rs 12.2 crore, down 0.6% YoY, while income from Own Brands was up 5.9% to Rs 127.2 crore in Q2. With an EBITDA margin of 24.2%, Q2 EBITDA was Rs 34.4 crore, a 9.7% YoY decrease. Additionally, profit after taxes decreased by 20.9% to Rs 14.5 crore.

Operating-level profits before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda) decreased from Rs 45.1 crore in Q2FY24 to Rs 34.4 crore in Q2FY25, a 23.8 percent yearly decline. As a result, in the September quarter of fiscal year 2025 (Q2FY25), the EBITDA margin decreased by 770 basis points (bps) to 25.8% from 33.5% in the same quarter in 2024 (Q2FY24).

Conversely, in Q2FY25, the company’s Own Brands increased by 0.4% yearly to Rs 127.2 crore. Elite & Premium led the way with a 7% rise in Q2FY25, according to Sula Vineyards. Furthermore, in Q2FY25, the share of Elite & Premium reached a record high of 78.5%, compared to 73.5% in Q2FY24.

Sula’s consolidated revenue for the September quarter decreased 1.1% year-over-year to Rs 132.36 crore, while net profit fell precipitously by 37% to Rs 14.48 crore, despite these encouraging advances in Telangana and wine tourism. With margins falling to 25.4% from 33.1% the previous year, Ebitda also fell by 24% to Rs 33.6 crore.
