March 25, 2025 – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has created a special task force to investigate a wave of violent attacks targeting Tesla properties across the United States. The decision comes as violent incidents involving Tesla vehicles, dealerships, and charging stations have sharply increased over the past few weeks.
Since the start of March, authorities have documented 48 separate attacks on Tesla locations. These include incidents of vandalism, arson, and even attempts to destroy property. The most alarming of these occurred on March 24, when incendiary devices were found at a Tesla showroom in northwest Austin, Texas. The bomb squad quickly neutralized the threat, but the incident highlighted the growing risk to Tesla and its employees.
The newly formed FBI task force is made up of 10 experts, including special agents and analysts from both the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The task force’s main goal is to track down and bring those responsible for these violent acts to justice. Investigators believe these attacks may be tied to a larger, ideologically-driven movement aimed at Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk.
The violence appears to be politically motivated, with some evidence pointing to anti-government groups and anarchist organizations. A controversial blog titled “Tesla Takedown” has been circulating online, calling for more aggressive actions against the company. In addition, a doxxing site has targeted Tesla employees, further escalating the danger.

The FBI is also monitoring an upcoming nationwide protest called the “Tesla Takedown,” set for March 29. Organizers are encouraging demonstrations at Tesla locations, though authorities are taking steps to prevent any violence from spilling into these events.
The U.S. government has strongly condemned the attacks. President Donald Trump issued a statement calling the violence “unacceptable” and proposed tough legal consequences for anyone found guilty. Attorney General Pam Bondi echoed his remarks, emphasizing that attackers could face up to 20 years in prison.
As the investigation continues, the FBI is reviewing security footage and digital communications to identify suspects. Officials are also keeping a close eye on future protests to prevent any escalation. Tesla’s growing influence in the tech and automotive sectors has made it a target for some radical groups, and the FBI’s task force is determined to ensure the safety of its employees and facilities.
