Bajaj Auto’s stock dropped around 3% in morning trading on the first day of the new year as a result of the company’s poor December sales. Compared to 1.90 lakh units sold in the same month the year before, the two-wheeler manufacturer’s overall domestic sales fell 15% to 1.62 lakh units in December 2024. Nevertheless, despite a robust 18% increase in international sales, overall sales decreased by 1% year over year to 3.23 lakh units. The company’s stock fell 3% from yesterday’s price of ₹8,798.60 to open at ₹8,754.05 and end at ₹8,551. The share price right now is ₹8,627.75.

The drag was mostly caused by poor domestic sales. Domestic sales of Bajaj Auto’s two-wheelers dropped 19% year over year to 1,28,335 units from 1,58,370 units sold in December 2023. Although domestic commercial vehicle sales increased by 5% year over year, Bajaj Auto’s total domestic sales decreased by 15% year over year to 1,62,420 units.

Overall sales for the month of December decreased by 1% year over year (YoY), according to Bajaj Auto. Compared to 3,26,806 units in December 2023, the company shipped 3,23,125 units in December 2024.
